Chile: San Pedro de Atacama – Valley of the Moon

El Valle de la Luna or Valley of the Moon look like mountains and ridges and faults of yellow rock, while in reality made almost entirely from pure salt and shaped by the wind and temperatures. It most definitely looks like another planet, as you climb up the ridges and pinnacles for an otherworldly panorama. A Mars rover prototype was tested here.
