China: Beijing – Great Wall of China Jinshanling Section
The Great Wall of China is one of the new 7 wonder of the world, and is one of the first monuments that come to mind when one thinks of China. The wall stretches for mind-boggling 8+ thousand kilometers, and was built by multiple emperors starting in the 7th century to protect against the Mongol aggression from the north. There are many places to see the wall; the sections close to Beijing are swarming with people, but drive out 2 hours to the Jinshanling Section – and it is truly beautiful over green mountains with fantastic landscapes.
