China: Hohhot – City Center

Once you are done visiting the famous Dazhao Temple, the are just around it in Hohhot is full of attractions. The area surrounding the temple is the cultural heart of the Old City, defined by wide pedestrian plazas and Ming-dynasty-style architecture. The space immediately in front of the temple, often called Dazhao Square, serves as a bustling public hub where modern city life meets ancient tradition – it’s packed with people, multiple night markets, and everything beautifully illuminated at night. Just west of the temple entrance is the most famous historical commercial area in the city, which consists of several interconnected streets like Saishang Old Street, Tongshun Old Street, and several others. Also, not to be missed is the stunning Five Pagoda Temple about a 1km walk from the main square .
