Comoros/Moheli: lMoheli Green Gecko
The Moheli Green Gecko is a small diurnal species of geckoes that have vibrant green coloration with red spots and are endemic to the island. They are very active during the day and also very friendly (they ran around all over our arms, but preferred Natali more – must have been a male). This species of gecko are both predators and pollinators at the same time, as they are omnivorous. The unique structure of toe pads makes them the best climbers of its genius – they can climd and even run the smoothest surface with ease. Unfortunately, the Moheli Green Geckos are under the threat due to the habitat loss, invasive species and collection for the pet trade. This little guy joined us during the lunch time, he didn’t run away and jumped on the hands and arms. Fantastic and very beautiful creature.
