Comoros/Moheli: Nioumachoua Village
Nioumachoua is a small settlement on the south coast of Moheli, a gateway to the Laka Lodge. Islam is the religion of Comoros (in fact, sharia law is officially the law here), so there are many whitewashed simple mosques and the architecture has Arabic influence, back from the days when Omani traders visited Comoros. The village is spectacularly situated over coastal hills with some panoramic views toward the Moheli Marine Park and offshore islets.
