Crima: Sevastopol
Turkish troops tried to wrestle it from Russia. The second siege happened in 1942 when German/Italian troops took months of severe bombardment to conquer the city. The city is relatively compact and is full of monuments and historic attractions – Monument to the Sunken Ships and Soldier & Sailor Monument being the most famous. It’s a fantastic and beautiful city to roam and explore, a true jewel!
