Crima: Swallow’s Nest
Swallow’s Nest is the most photographed castle in Crimea, in fact it is the very symbol of the peninsula. It was featured in National Geographic and was printed on the 100 Russia ruble bill (after the annexation of Crimea in 2014). Swallow’s Nest was built in 1911 on top of a precipitous cliff above the Black Sea. It’s a decorative castle built in Neo-Gothic style, the interior is tiny with just a small guest room. I got super lucky to come here at sunset with the castle was basking in the soft light of the setting sun, which made for awesome pics!
