Cuba: Bahia de Baitiquiri
As you drive east toward the La Farola Mountains, you go along the spectacular coast of the Bahia de Baitiquiri. It’s rugged and the surf is tough and pounding, eroding the coastal rocks into various shapes and cliffs. When calm, the water are supposed to be very clear here and the reef is one of the best in Caribbean, but it’s rarely calm here and the waves come straight from the open Atlantic. The surrounding area is very desert with strands of cacti and the mountains rising shortly after the beach.
