Cuba: Eastern Cuban Food Recap
In the eastern Cuba, the cuisine is somewhat different than in Havana, there are more seafood products here and more Afro-Carribean influences. Pork is number one meat and it’s prepared in a variety of way, the least of which is actually the Cuban sandwich. Lobster simply grilled is delicious, ropa vieja beef is fantastic. In Baracoa the food was super interesting – like small stewed lobster and some kind of freshly spawned shrimp. The Cuban government prohibits people from owning boats so the seafood is mostly what you can catch by swimming and diving off the shore. And of course traditional Cuban drinks – Cuba Libre. Mojitos, daiquiris, and rum!
