Cuba: Trinidad – Palacio Cantero
Palacio Cantero is the largest building in Trinidad, built in 1828 by one of he richest sugar barons in the city (Trinidad and it’s vicinity were world famous for sugar estates). The house has a large open space courtyard inside and its terraces offer unparalleled view over the city’s red tile roofs and cathedrals. Today, the house is the provincial historical museum and displays the items from the early 19th century (but that’s probably true of any building in Trinidad – it all feels like an open air historical display frozen in time).
