Cuba: Karst Landscape of Vinales Valley
Vinales Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the incredible karst landscape of limestone hills and towers and the cultural heritage of tobacco farms below. In some ways, the views are reminiscent of Guillin Hills in China or Halong Bay in Vietnam. The karst hills are known as mogotes and rise sharply from the ground. Rock climbing is very popular here. One of the mogotes is painted in bright colors with the history of evolution. Kitsch meets education!
