Djibouti: Djibouti Food Recap
And a bit of Djibouti food – amazingly fresh fish, goat meat, delicious bread. Djibouti as a country doesn’t produced absolutely anything (besides some salt) on its own, so a lot gets imported. Similarly, Djibouti cuisine is a mix of Yemeni, Somali, Afar dishes and recipes with added touch from the French – so a hodgepodge in other words. A lot of spices are used in cooking – both fish and goat meat. The fish we had was actually similar to the Yemeni fish preparation. Add some strong coffee!
