Dominican Republic: Playa Dorada
Playa Dorada is one of the most famous beaches in the Dominican Republic. Unlike the tourist trap of Punta Cana, here the beautiful long strip of sand is mostly taken by just a few elite resorts, significantly limiting crowds and access. The beach is beautiful with a long crescent of yellow sand, no crowds, amazing blue and clear water, gentle surf, and oh did I mention no crowds. Yes no crowds! The BlueJackTar hotel we stayed at was actually totally awesome and not-all inclusive, but with an amazing kitchen and private beach.
