East Antarctica: Last Tabular Iceberg
We finally turned north and headed out of Antarctic waters of the Southern Ocean, but no before witnessing out last humongous tabular iceberg, yet another massive ice castle. This one was the largest, with a large sea cave and high vertical walls leading to the expansive tabletop. But more interesting – it’s had large rocks and soil on top which meant it was once part of a moving glacier, scraping the Antarctic mainland as it descended into ocean and then broke off and floated away from shore.
