Ecuador: Sani Lodge – Night Hike

This was the most incredible of the Amazon experiences – a night exploration of the jungle, when seemingly every plant and tree become alive with super-giant insects of all shapes and sizes. Giant tarantulas, massive spiders with teeth, beetles and bugs shaped like leaves and branches, centipedes and millipedes the length of a forearm, and so much more. In fact, the insect concentration int the Ecuadorean Amazon can reach 60,000/hectare.
