Egypt: Aswan – Philae Temple
Philae is a temple that was taken apart block by blocks and then moved to a different location (an island) when lake Nasser flooded the desert and Nile’s shores. It took 40,000 pieces to do this. While you can still see the seams between the blocks, it’s nevertheless an amazing feat that even ancient Egyptians would be proud of. The temple has spectacular structures, and amazing lake views from its island location.
