England: Stonehenge

Stonehenge is world-famous. The ring of stone pillars dates back to sometime between 3000 and 2000 BC, and is thought to have been a burial ground. Millions of people come to see the free-standing rocks and you have to buy a timed-ticket to get here. And on solstice – it becomes a mad house of crowds.
