England: Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral is one of the biggest and most important in England. In fact, built over 38 year period in the 13th century, it is still the tallest spire in the entire Great Britain at 123 meters (404 feet). It contains the best original of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta – it’s on display in one of the buildings. It’s massive from both outside and inside, but unlike Canterbury, much more open and atmospheric inside and not cluttered and decorated as much or as lavishly.
