Eritrea: Massawa – Dahlak Hotel

The place to stay at in Massawa is Grand Dahlak Hotel, and it’s likely the only hotel in town. It has a definite Cuba feel to it – beat up and worn out but still with elements of its old glory. Beautiful arched windows and doorway, carved wooden doors, beautiful furniture and layout. But the rooms are stuffy, aircon week, and the pool probably hasn’t seen water for year. Still, it’s a very beautiful place to stay at.
