Ethiopia: Simien Mountains NP – Hiking Above 13K Feet at Chennek
Simien NP is fantastic for hiking, especially at the higher elevations in the north. An 800m/2500ft ascent in thin air wasn’t the easiest but the views down from the ledges were beyond breathtaking. The entire hike goes along the escarpment with sheer vertical dropoff just a step away. Oh, and you have to go with a ranger/scout who sports an AK47 with 7.62mm bullets.
