Fernando de Noronha: Praia do Sancho

Praia do Sancho is by far the most spectacular beach onFernando de Noronha (it has been named the top world beach multiple Times by TripAdvisor) and just getting down to it is an adventure. To get down to it, you need to descent down on a steep vertical metal ladder squeezed into a rock crevice – not for claustrophobic people. After the ladder, it’s more rock stairs to the to the actual beach – around 100 ft total descent. Once down – the beach is undead spectacular – it’s a huge perfect crescent surrounded by vertical cliffs, perfect wave action and softest yellow sand. Black rock outcrops add to the contrast. And it’s fantastic to see nesting marine birds – the trees are jam-packed with red-footed boobies, brown noddies, and fairy terns. Lots and lots of boobies!
