France: Châlons-en-Champagne
Châlons-en-Champagne is the capital town of the entire Champagne & Ardenne region of France (despite being a tiny historic village in the vicinity of a much larger Reims). The town is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its wooden houses and canals as well as two large cathedrals – Saint Etienne’s cathedral and Notre-Dame-en-Vaux church, both built in the 12th century! Plenty of other old building as you roam the city….
