France: Cliffs of Etretat
Entretat is the French response to the White Cliffs of Dover – and in my opinion – France wins! Spectacular white cliffs, three insane sea arches, the Needle seastack, both sand and pebble beaches, and hiking trails both down and up taking you to the very edges of abyss. It’s extremely scenic with the town of Etretat located at the bottom between two arches with cliffs towering on both sides and a path going up with viewpoints back toward the town. The town is also famous for Claude Monet having painted several landscapes here (although looks like he was lazy and didn’t hike to the best spots).
