France: Colmar

Colmar is considered by many to be in of the most picturesque towns in France – it is located at the heart of Alsace wine region and its old town is a collection of narrow winding streets and half-timber houses along the canals, all adorned with flowers. Even if you have a map – you gonna get lost here – there is no rhyme or reason to how these streets are arranged and many dead end. But getting lost is fun here – every house is as if it came from a medieval fairy tale. The most prominent and decorated houses – Maison Adolph, Maison Pfisfer, Koofhus, Maison de Tetes – date back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
