France: Le Mans Cathedral
The cathedral in Le Mans is probably one of the most spectacular in the world – massive building full of finest examples of both French gothic and Romanesque architecture. The cathedral was built from 11th to 15th centuries. It is famous for the amount of flying buttresses it has on one side making it almost looking alien and futuristic. Inside is an amazing collection of stained glass windows, an ornate nave, and spectacular columns. The total area of the cathedral is over 5k square meters, making this one of the largest cathedrals in Europe.
