France: Roussilon

Roussilin-en-Province is another must-see town in the Provence Alps, absolutely beautiful. The entire town sits on top of a rocky outcrop offering a superb panorama of the surrounding countryside. The town is located next to the old ochre quarry and every building and street in color is orange-yellow with soft pastel color scheme. It’s very touristy in summer but absolutely worth fighting the crowds and walking uphill to the top of the town for the views and architecture. Roussillon was named in top ten “most beautiful villages in France” and lies entirely within the boundaries of the Luberon Natural Park.
