France: Saint-Thegonnec Parish Church

And one more parish close church – they are just so stunning! This one is in the village of Saint-Thegonnec. This one is considered to the the third of the “Big Three” parish closes alongside Lampaul-Guimiliau and Guimiliau (see previous two posts). This 16-17th-century parish close is a masterpiece of Breton Gothic and Renaissance architecture, built during the region’s linen trade prosperity and known for its ornate calvary and richly decorated church, exterior and interior, and a 70m tall bell tower.
