French Polynesia: Food Recap
Many islands in the Society archipelago are peppered with luxury resorts and as such the quinine is almost invariably a French/Tahitian fusion. The most ubiquitous dish in Tahiti is poussin crue aka raw fish in coconut milk and lime. Fish menu is extensive and varied – grilled tuna, mahimahi, swordfish, and lobster are fantastic. There were some unique finds like fish steamed in banana leaves or raw reef fish or bizarre looking mantis shrimp. Plenty of tropical cocktails on top and about a few beer types.
