French Polynesia/Taha’a: Pari Pari Rum Distillery
Tahaa island boasts not one but two rum distilleries, the second one being the Pari Pari Distillery. Rum agricole – pure rum without molasses – is produced here with a whopping 55% alcohol content. Here you actually get to see the entire production process – from sugar cane to distillation and the impressive storage and aging cellar with barrels. At Pari Pari, they also make flavored rums – with the famous Tahaa vanilla, and the local passion fruit purée. And you get to taste all of it!
