French Polynesia/Bora Bora: Cruising the Lagoon
Bora Bora’s lagoon is indeed spectacular, perhaps the most beautiful of all the French Polynesia’s Society Islands. The small island in the middle with the mountain peaks of Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu, the highest point at 727m/2385 feet (both remnants of an extinct volcano), while a wide ring of motu islets of a barrier reef surrounds the bluest of the blue lagoon water around it. Many of the luxury resorts with overwater bungalows are on the motus. It takes about an hour or two to circumnavigate the island of Bora Bora by water with stunning azure views all around you.
