French Polynesia/Taha’a: Coral Garden Drift

This is one of the best drift snorkel sits in the entire French Polynesia. A roughly 50-meter wide channel between two islets located on the outer reef of the Tahaa lagoon creates a constant current assuring plenty of clear running water full of oxygen for healthy coral growth. The current is quite strong and some places are quite shallow, so my first run was bouncing from one sharp coral bed to another until I figured out the narrow channel in between them. There is plenty of small colorful tropical fish and you feel like you are drifting in an aquarium.
