Gabon: Libreville – Boulevard Triomphal
Libreville is the capital of Gabon, yet another Central African country flush with oil money. The main avenue in the city – Boulevard Triomphal Omar Bongo – runs through the heart of it and ends into the Atlantic beach. Along the boulevard are super modern glass and steel building mostly belonging to various oil related ministries, the presidential palaces, and embassies of foreign countries representing oil businesses vying for a piece of oil action. 700 thousand people call this home, one of the richest and most expensive cities in Africa. Once again – photography is not welcome, especially of anything related to the president, a nearly 50-year father & son dynasty.
