Georgia: Ananuri Cathedral

Ananuri is a medieval fortress and cathedral on the lake along the Aragvi River north of Tbilisi along the Georgian Military Road. It has one of the most picturesque setting of any fortress in Europe. But the fortress is spectacular inside as well – with carved walls and ceiling and ancient inscriptions.
