Germany: Hanau
Hanau is know as the birthplace of Brothers Grimm and the central market square has a monument dedicated to them. Old Town Hall is a spectacular half-timbered building also on the main square. Just a block away is the very interesting Wallonian-Dutch Church. Also in town is Schloss Phillipruhe Palace. Built in the baroque style in the 18th century, the palace sits along the banks of the Main River, surrounded by picturesque gardens and greenery.
