Germany: Karlsruhe- Karlsruhe Palace

Karlsruhe Palace was build in 1715 by some local ruler (Charles III William of Baden) when his previous town revolted against him. The palace was building as the center of the town with all the streets radiating from it like the spokes of a wheel or find of a folding fan (Karlsruhe in German is nicknamed “fan city). The palace occupies sprawling grounds with a lot of open areas, fountains, promenades, and statues. It was completely destroyed in WWII but quickly rebuilt afterwards.
