Germany: Lubeck – Old Town at Sunset
Lubeck is a historic town near the Baltic north coast of Germany that used to be one of the major town of the Hanseatic League in the medieval ages. The old town, a UNESCO Heritage site, is just stunning – located on an island, surrounded by a river all around with city gates, spectacular rows of brick houses, several grand cathedrals (with great view from the top), an ornate city hall, and multiple atmospheric squares. The town is quite compact and you can explore everything in several hours unless you stop to linger (which is somewhat unavoidable).
