The central market square in Mainz, right next to the towering medieval cathedral and surrounded by beautiful old houses, is filled with produce sellers. Freshest vegetables and fruits from around the fertile Rhine valley, berries and mushrooms, wine and German grilled sausage – all on a lovely display here.
