Germany: Munich – City Center
While Munich is a massive 1.4 million city, its city center is quite compact with many fantastic historical attractions – New City Hall (Neues Rathaus) with the famous Glockenspiel, Old City Hall, Feldherrenhalle, Residenz (former residence of the Bavarian kings), multiple churches, old city walls and gates, and beautiful avenues lines up with classic Bavarian buildings. Oh, and the insane views of the city from the bell tower of St. Peter’s Church are well worth the dizzying hundreds of stairs you need to climb.
