Thuringian Forest aka Thuringer Wald is a UNESCO biosphere reserve and mushroom-picket paradise, especially in the fall when the delicious honey mushrooms and saffron milk cap mushrooms. Both are delicious, the former in a soup and the latter salted or even eaten raw!
