Varied terrain of the German state of Thuringia boasts a huge variety of spring wildflowers. Starting from mid March to mid May, the forests literally explode with wave after wave of color – first come snowbells and hepatica, then various primulas, and then a whole barrage of buttercup and lily and amaryllis families species, and then eventually everything else comes in full bloom.
