Würzburg Residence is a UNESCO-listed spectacular palace, one of the masterpieces of Baroque style. Built over a 24-year period between 1720-1744 it is lavishly jam-packed with Baroque and Rococo or Neoclassical architecture and a massive central grand staircase. Sculptures and paintings inside done by Venetian artists. Napoleon thought it was one of the grandest buildings in Europe.
