Greece: Athens – Ancient Agora & Temple of Zeus
Below the Acropolis lies Ancient Agora, the marketplace that was the heart of ancient Athens with multiple temples, theaters, open spaces with colonnades, and statues. Nearby is the marble Tower of Winds (a clock tower which is a combination sundial, water clock, and wind clock). Further east is the spectacular Temple of Olympian Zeus built by Romans in the second century AD, or more like the ruins of the former glory with a few columns remaining of what used to be hundreds.
