Greenland: Skjoldungen Island – Hiking
Skjoldungen Island is a very remote island in the southeast Greenland, surrounded by the absolutely stunning Northern and Southern Skjoldungen Fjords – deep and narrow channels with towering cliffs and lots of active glaciers calving icebergs into the fjord’s water. We landed deep into the southern part of the fjord and went on an extended hike through mind-blowing landscape – lakes, icebergs stuck just offshore, and a massive glacier descending into a moraine, and towering mountains all around. Also plenty of Arctic flora and berries – both crowberries and blueberries.
