Greenland: Uunartoq Island – Hiking
Uunartoq is an uninhabited island along the southern Greenland coast. It’s surrounded by beautiful fjords, smaller islets, and floating and stranded icebergs – surreal panoramas. The island is a giant dome and you can hike up to the top of it for super views. Along the way, there is plenty of Arctic flora to explore. But it’s really the desolation and solitude that make the high amazing – you are in the middle of the remote Greenlandic wilderness, thousands of miles away from any civilization of note. Uunartoq is of volcanic origins and surprisingly – it even had hot spring.
