Colombia: Guatape – Church Nuestra Senora del Carmen
As if the town wasn’t colorful enough, its centrally located Church of Nuestra Senora del Carmen is absolutely stunning – white and dark red and nearly shining in the setting sun. The front has large zocalos (frescoes) representing the They represent the four Evangelists: an angel for Saint Mathew; a lion for Saint Mark; a bull for Saint Luke and an eagle representing Saint John. The interior is equally amazing – all wooden pillars and very richly decorated with carving and statues.
