Guatemala: Guatemala City – Mercado Central
Just behind the Catedral Meteopolitan in Guatemala City is the massive Mercado Central, almost entirely underground. Large sections of produce mix with a lot of artesania – baskets, masks, clothing, clay products and pottery and so on and so forth, leather, wood, ceramics. There is also a large food court section with small places serving the most authentic and simple local Guatemalan fare.
