Guernsey: Castle Cornet
Moving on the neighboring island country of Guernsey (actually a confederation of three islands), there was another spectacular castle set on an island offshore and trachea me via a causeway – Castle Cornet. Originally built in the early 13th century, it was remodeled with the advent of gunpowder in the 16gh century, and then modified with concrete by plov cupping Germans in the WWII. From the top, the views are incredible – one can see Jersey and Sark island lying in the distance as well as the capital town of Guernsey lying in front in all its splendor. The grounds of the castle are perfectly manicured into a garden.
