l While the distances are not crazy, it takes a an entire day to go from Bissau, the capital of Guinea-Bissau to Senegal and through the southern Senegalese region of Casamance. The roads in Guinea-Bissau are some of the worst in the world with potholes that you can almost stand in. The roads don’t get any better in Senegal. The scenery is mostly dominated by red dust and endless marshland in Casamance. Add the totally brutal border crossing with time wasted in hours of baggage search and lines to cross.
