Guinea-Bissau: Bissau – Bissau Cathedral
Bissau Cathedral aka Sé Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Candelária is the main catholic church in the country, built in 1950, replacing an earlier church. It’s a grand structure with two-symmetrical towers built like a castle of sorts. The interior is ornate and people practice singing inside. Interestingly, its northern tower functions like talk lighthouse for the city of Bissau. Less than 20% of people in Bissau are Christian, while 46% are Muslim.
