Guinea-Bissau: Bubaque Island – Bubaque
Bubaque is the island neighboring the Rubane island where we stayed – it has the largest town in the Bijagos archipelago and is connected to the mainland by a slow ferry. The main town is just a few shacks and huts, and a warehouse for cashew nuts, the main crop. The total population of the island is just around 6K, and most leave in town.
